Joseph Hisey, b. circa 1765-1774 & Jacob Hisey, b. 1757, both in PA I think
I would like to find the parents of both of these men.
Joseph was in Augusta Co., VA in 1798 and married Elizabeth Gabbert, and they worshipped at St. John's Reformed and Lutheran Church for about 8 years, before they moved to Greenbrier Co., then VA, now W. VA, where Joseph died in 1828.
Jacob and Barbara had a son, Johann George baptized in Salem Lutheran Church in Lebanon, PA in 1784. Two daughters were born there, one in 1787, Susa, and one in 1788, Catharine.
Jacob and wife Barbara were in Shenandoah Co., in 1794 when they bought land there, which they sold in 1798.A son, Samuel was born there in 1795 and baptized in Zion Pine Reformed Church.By the 1800's they were in Rockingham Co.
In 1810 Samuel married a McCullough and moved to Illinois. In 1820, Catharine married a Lambert. They along with Jacob, Susan, Susan's daughter and family, the Karicofes, Johann George and wife Esther, all lived in the Ashby Magisterial District, in Rockingham Co., until Jacob died in 1834, Susan in 1861, I believe, Johann George in 1871 and I don't know the death dates of the rest of them.
Jacob was on a tax record in Rockingham Co., with George in 1815 and George ran for the VA Legislature in the 1840's but didn't win.
If you know anything connected with these men that I don't know, please let me know.Thank you.
