Re: Susanna Hix(Hicks) and Henry Brown - Bedford Co., VA
Can you tell me how Philip Durham connects to Jesse Hix/Hicks of Bedford Co. Va. & Breckinridge Co. Ky.
Jesse Hicks/Hix left a will in Breckinridge Co. Ky. written July 10, 1829. Probated Sept. 21, 1829.
Names his wife Elizabeth
Sons - Drury, William, Henderson, Leftwich
Daughters - Martha Hicks, Elizabeth Marshall, Hannah S. Marshall, Milly Hicks, Eliza Hicks, Dessia Hicks.
Executor was his son Leftwich Hicks.
Jesse Hix/Hicks had 3 wives - 1st Mary Board - 2nd Jane Ferril - 3rd Elizabeth his much younger wife living on the 1850 census of Breckinridge Co. Ky in the home of Henderson Hicks.
Drury was in Breckinridge before his father Jesse of Bedford Co. and gives him the power to sell his land in Campbell Co. Va.dated Aug. 7, 1816 in Breckinridge Co. Ky
Jesse Hix is on the 1820 census of Breckinridge Co. Ky
The families of Hicks/Hix - Jarrett - Board - Dowell - Meador - Leftwich are all intermarried into each other in Bedord Co. Va. & The names cross again and again in various Will's & Marriage's in Bedford & Breckinridge.
Joel Jarrett family is also in Beford Co. Va. & Breckinridge Co. Ky
The Dowell's and Board's are heavily connected in Bedford Co. Va. & Jesse Hicks 1st wife was Mary Board dau. of John Board Sr. of Bedford Co. Jesse's older daughters were married in Bedford Co. as was Jesse to his 2nd wife Jane.
Thanks So Much,
Mary Hicks Driggers
