Sparling Bowman and his family were Germans.And, yes Frederick Co. MD is crawling with Germans and German speaking people.I have other lines living there in this time frame who came from Germany ca 1764.

I have seen where Ephraim Hixson wrote his name in German on the petition in Bledsoe Co. TN.This makes me wonder if the Hixsons aren't Germans or German speaking people who have been mixed up accidently with the English Hixsons of NJ. I have major doubts about this family being from NJ.
