Re: Nancy Jane Hobbs b. GA
Have I sent your Hobbs Genealogy yet???Nancy Jane Hobbs was born Butts Co., Ga. and her name is St. Seristy "Nancy Jane" Hobbs. Her parents: Charles Newton Hobbs, Sr. and Rebecca Anne "Becky" Tomlinson moved to Talladega Co., Ala/ about 1836-8 era, they are in the 1840 Census in Talladega, Co., Ala. (Later renamed Clay Co.,Ala. about 1866-1870 era.My ancesstor was James McDaniel D. Hobbs, the youngest son of Charles and Rebecca.St. Seristy was their oldest child.I have most of the siblings, a lot of cousins and the uncles/aunts backa generation or two.
The George Hobbs and Mary ____came from Wake Co., NC and moved to Monroe Co. Ga. in the early 1810-1823 era.
Someone on interney has added names to the above, but in MY OPINION and records, The informaion was incorrect or they copied it incorrectly. It is my belief that Rebecca "Ann "Becky" Tomlinson siblings moved from Butts Co., Ga. to Ala. in the (thnk it is ) Randolph Co., Ala. where they are buried in the Tomlinson Cemetery,( now renamed).
