Re: Sarah Hoblet,Hoblit, Clinton Co., OH
I just learned yesterday about the Sarah Hoblit who m. Benjamin Shipley. We Shipley researchers have been facing a big mystery about the wife of this Benjamin Shipley (the 3rd in a line of Benjamin's).Some of us have been working under the mistaken impression that her name was Sarah Amelia Hobbs. It turns out Amelia Hobbs was a second wife of Benjamin's grandfather of the same name.
In any event, could you post more details on the vital stats (geography, b., d., marriage, etc.) of the Sarah Hoblit who married Benjamin Shipley?
I invite you to look at my post #2201 on the Shipley GenForum for the most recent details I have on Sarah (Hoblit) Shipley.
You may already have this information but there are at least two more Hoblit/Hobblit families near this set of families in the 1840 Fed Census of De Witt Co., IL.I didn't know until yesterday that they were in-laws of my family!I can't remember the exact way the enumerator spelled the surname on that page.Search for Joshua Dale or Alexander Dale and you'll see the Hobblits on the same page.If you don't have handy access to that census info, I can transcribe it pretty easily.
Thanks in advance.
