Ann Hockaday-wife of H A Hockaday(Poss Henry A?)
Looking for information on Ann Hockaday-born appr 1841 in GA-moved to Texas-married H. A. Hockaday-poss Henry A Hockaday. H A Hockaday born appr 1819 in VA. Ann would be his second wife. On 1880 census of Leon County shows:
H A Hockaday self M Male W 61 VA Farmer VA VA
Ann Hockaday Wife M FEMALE W 39 GA House Keeper GA GA
John E Hockaday Son S Male W 16 TX Farm Laborer VA MO
Henry C Hockaday Son S Male W 14 TX Farm Laborer VA MO
In 1920 the census shows Ann as a widow living with the Hagler household-and lists her as an Aunt:
1920 Leon Countoung TX,Precinct 6
William Hagler Head M W 36 Md TX AL GA Farmer Gen Farm
Nettie Wife F W 29 Md TX TX TX
Johnnie Dau F W 8 S TX TX TX
Nannie Moth F W 59 Wd GA GA GA (believe this to be Nancy (Nannie) Baggett daughter of Silas Baggett and Mary Lambert Baggett)
Wood Bro M W 32 S TX AL GA Farmer Gen Farm
Robert Bro M W 32 S TX AL GA Farmer Gen Farm
Ann Hockaday Aunt F W 79 W2 GA GA GA
Travis Baggett BIL M W 15 S TX TX TX(son of Thompson Baggett(son of Silas Baggett and Mary Lambert Baggett) and his second wife Emma Patton Hobbs Moore)
James Moore BIL M W 20 S TX TX TX
Alvin BIL M W 23 S TX TX TX Farmer Gen Farm
It appears that Ann may be a Baggett or have been married to a Baggett-as it indicates that she was a widow twice (W2?). Ann did sign the Civil War widows pension papers for Mary Lambert Baggett as a witness and having lived and known Thompson Baggett in Georgia. Could she have been sister to Silas Baggett?? Father of the above Nannie and Thompson Baggett?
As to the Hockaday-Henry C the son mentioned in the 1880 census married Evie(Eva) L. Moore in Leon Tx 16 Dec 1890. His brother John E (also mentioned in the 1880 census) married Dollie last name not known-and was living in Floyd Co TX according to the 1900 and 1910 census.
Any information on Ann Hockaday-will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for you time,
