Hello Pete,
It's obvious you are youngerthan I, as Nathan and Rebecca Hockett were my great, great grandparents. Rachael was the oldest of their children. I have 7 children and 11 grandchildren. My oldest grandson, Ian Christensen is 28 and was recently married to a lovely and lively young lady, so I may become a great-grandmother myself within a few years. When watching the video/documentary that I mentioned, I, too, could not believe how my great grandmother, managed after her parents died within a few days, and they were still many miles from their final destination in the Willamette Valley. Actually, she and her brothers came first to the Tualatin area, and lived in a hut provided by a kindly trapper/mountain man. I will see if the video I mentioned is available at my library now, and perhaps your library can arrange a transfer so that you may see it. I'm not sure what the rules are, but we send books, etc. to Multnomah County, and maybe further South. I will at least get the exact title for you. I seem to be rambling on here, so had best stop. My very best to you, Maxine
