Thanks for your prompt reply!I have run across Millie Jean before and she is not the person I need for my family.I found Sampson Carroll and Millie Hocutt's wedding date in the book Georgia Marriages to 1850.It stated that they were married in Newton County, GA on Oct 3, 1841.Now, looking back over my copy of the census records, I see that some years she is listed as Willie rather than Millie.Her date of birth would be somewhere around 1825.Would you be kind enough to look in your book and see if there might be a "Willie" rather than a "Millie" that matches these dates?One researcher suggested that she might be the daughter of Benjamin Hocutt, son of John Hocutt (b. 1794 in NC and d. 1799 in NC).
