...Jacob Hodil & Henry Strohm arrived from Bavaria, Nov. 10, 1793 on the ship "Peggy." They were brother-in-laws, but this has not been established as a matter of fact.. They & their wives came from Lancaster County, Pa. about 1798...Aug. 21, 1805 these two men purchased tract #66...Hodil's deed...northern 114 acres, 54 perches, for which he paid $239 & Strohm's deed called for 121 acres, 80 perches, for which he paid $239....Frederick Hodel, half brother of Jacob, purchased his farm...
pg. 93...Jacob Hodil, Jr. is the one on the United Brethren Board. His wife was the daughter of Henry Strohm & a number of the Strohms attended that church at Blue Run....
