Abbeville S.C. Hodges- HELP!!!

I am so pleased to see this Hodges forum still active with postings.All my other family name forums are as dead as the ancestors I am seeking.My husband is descended from James Hodges and Nancy Ware.I have read all the posts concerning certain books that have been written. Now I am thoroughly confused. Have any recent discover recent discoveries cleared up the debate over John/ Richard Hodges as the father of James L Hodges who M. Nancy Ware? Can anyone print the correct descendency of this family? Thank you sincerely in advance.
