What a Bother!!
Seek information on Joseph Hoeffler emigrated from Alsasse-Lothringen Germany circa 1890. Woodsman and cabinet maker. m. Marie Koch from near Koln. His son, Joseph, my grandfather, b. 1881, m. Elizabeth Louisa Thomas who was from Otzweiler, Germany. Her Father was Peter Thomas.
Any info out there?
In medieval Europe there were three classes: Those who worked, Those who Fought and Those who Prayed.Suspect that Josef was of the working class, i.e. a worker on a larger estate( HO(umlaut)fler???I recall stories of my greatgrandfather making charcoal in the Black Forest.
