NOTE: The following E/Mail was received from another HOFF descendant
of POWELL HOFF and MARTHA BREWSTER HOFF from Dallas Co., IA, and I
thought perhaps other Hoffs in our line might find it of interest.

Mr. John S. Hoff:
My name is Brewster Luman Hoff.I was born in Iowa in 1922.My father was Lawrence T. Hoff, one of five brothers, sons of Nathaniel Hoff. They were farmers at Grimes, Dallas County., IA.NATHANIEL HOFF was one of the sons of POWELL HOFF & MARTHA BREWSTER HOFF, of Dallas Co., IA.
In what time I have left to live, I'm in hopes that I can leave some family history to my descendants.
I'm rather excited there seems to be such history at sites in the internet that date further back than what I have. From such, I am convinced that one or the other Martha Brewster is of my family.
Jeannie seems to be convinced that my Martha Brewster is not of the Mayflower. However, when I was a young boy, my mother told me that our family went back to Brewster of the Mayflower. The reason for my name.At that time, access to history was by family Bible notes, Court house records, or hand down. The only reason that my mother would have that opinion wouldhave been the result of it being passed down from forefathers and/or foremothers. It seems that fact should carry weight.
I hope you understand that my interests are more than just the Martha Brewster question.Any history of my family, dating as far back as the 1700's or so, is exciting to me and I would like to include such information in the records I've been creating.
Jeannie refers to you as my cousin. This may well be.Perhaps you have, or we can find the common ancestor.
Sincerely, Brewster Luman Hoff
