Thank you for responding.I have been trying to locate this information for a long time.My husband, Kenneth Hogue is the grandson of Frank Hoge from S.E. Hoge's first wife, Susan.Frank had 10 children. We have a good genealogy list of everyone from Frank to current date.Frank's wife(Mina Harter)wanted to change the spelling of the last name from Hoge to Hogue. Part of the family went with the change and part kept the original name so the family spelling is split here in California. The only difference I have with your information is that the 1870 census shows Samuel Hoge's children as William (instead of Wallace) and Frank.I also found a couple of interesting articles about Samuel as sheriff and the unit he served with during the Civil War. So it looks like you and my husband are related. We would be happy to share information with you.
