I have finished my research. Samuel's parents appear to be John Hoge b. Sept.6, 1793, PA and Mary Wortman b. 1791, PA.
John and Mary were married in 1811 in Uniontown, Fayette Co., PA.Mary's father was Abraham Wortman and her mother was Abigail Ponwort.Abraham served in the NJ militia during the Revolutionary War. The information on John's parents is not as clear but it seems that his father was John Hoge b. 1754, Cumberland, PA and his mother was Mary Jenkins.This line of Hoges goes back to Sir John Hoge of Scotland.I have written a report for all the CA Hoge/Hogue relatives and would be happy to share it with you so you could add any further information or corrections.If you are interested, contact me at [email protected]
