Re: Guy John Adams Holden
Thank you for the great info.
You mentioned your post from 2006
That was where I got my info about Guy Holden.
I was suggesting that certain Holdens listed in the Forum who were connected to Vermont might be related to my Frances Jane(Fanny)Holden even her father. Frances had a son named Guy so your Guy might have been his grandfather.
The fact that Guy went to Canada is interesting. Frances was in Canada by age 15 (1831) However I dont know when she left Vermont. At that young age though she would have been with her family.
If Guy died in Stanstead, Quebec, he was not far from home. The south end of Stanstead is in the United States, Vermont. Right on I-91 in the US and I-55 in Canada.
You mentioned TWO different wives: Clarissa Jones and Fanny. Were both married to Guy at some period ? If there was a Fanny she might have been my Fanny's mother.
Your Guy left Waterbury, VT and went to Plattsburg, NY for the battle there in September, 1814. If he was not back home before Christmas that year, I doubt he would have been the father of my Frances who was born the following August.
Do you have anymore info about Guy and/or his children ?
