Jabez Maurice Holder/ Need Help

I am researching Mary Ella Reid, my husbands's ancestor and cannot get past some confusion on who she married.I would appreciate any help you can give.

Georgia Marriage records:

Thomas H. Whitaker - Mary E. reed 6/23/1875 - Troup Co. Ga.
J.M. Holder - Mary E. Reid - 12/20/1870 - Haralson Co. G.

Good question now is whether or not our family researchers are correct in assigning Mary Ella Reid (1854-1924) to Mr. Whitaker or did she in fact marry Mr. Holder.

It seems that Mary Elizabeth Reed (dau. of John B. Reed & Mary Chandler) was
born 6/24/1851 - DD 6/27/1905 and married one of these guys. After going on find-a-grave today and finding Thomas Howell Whitaker's Tombstone ,as well as one for Mary Elizabeth Whitaker, with the 1851-1905 dates in Hillview Cem. in Troup Co. Ga. I am beginning to suspect our Mary Ella may have married Mr. Holder instead of Mr. Whitaker. (I have not found a burial place for Mary Ella since I am not sure now about her married name and not real comfortable that I have the correct death date.

All of the family researchers seem to be swapping these husbands and wives back and forth in their research and I could not get proof either way.
If Mary Ella did indeed marry J.M. (Jabez Maurice Holder) on 12/20/1870 that could be why she wasn't picked up on the 1870 census.

If anyone has seen these marriage certificates and can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it. I am hanging with this search because we do not know Mary Ella's mom's maiden name. To make this more confusing. Mary Ella's dad was a John B. (Burham) Reed also. Her mother was Harriett LNU.
