Re: Holding - Bolton England

Having grown up believing that the HOLDING surname was a small group & that if I found another we would be related, to say I have had my eyes opened is an understatement !!!In the 1881 census in Lancashire England there were over 1000 HOLDING's listed...OK, so it's not as many as Smith or Brown but the odds of finding that another HOLDING has the same tree are a bit remote.It doesn't stop us from trying but I keep in mind there are more than I ever believed.
