Bob - I have James Holdren, b Jan 1838 Branchville, Sussex Co,NJ.He died 13 May 1910 in Los Angeles.Father was Richard b 1796.Mother Catherine Carmer. His grandfather was Henry Holdren, who fought with Washington at Monmouth and at Yorktown and lived to 100.I believe he's descended from William Holdren, b 1635 in Cripplegate, London, England.
My ancestor is one of Richard's brothers, John.

I believe James died while in an old soldier's home in LA.
