Henry Holeman - Woodford Co., KY

By Mushroom Pie November 14, 2008 at 07:39:24

Henry Holeman, b. abt. 1735, Kent Co., MD, d. between 6 Mar 1789 (date his will was written) and Sep 1789 (when his will was proven in Woodford Co., KY.)Note: Woodford Co., KY was formerly Fayette Co., VA and became Woodford Co. in 1789.I hope the notes below will help some of you who are researching the family.I descend from Henry & his wife, Jane (either Gordon or Lynch), through their daughter, Jane Holman, b. 1785, who married John Collins.I have researched this family for years and have yet to find the marriage record of Henry and Jane. If anyone has actual proof of the marriage of Henry Holeman who married Jane, I would sure appreciate having that info!!According to a relative in the 1800's, Jane was supposed to have been an Episcopalian, married in Maryland, then went to KY.

History: A descendant of this line is Tom Short who has posted on the internet detailed information and proof on the family. His email address is [email protected] interest is a note he wrote to someone concerning the name of Henry Holeman's (b. abt 1735, Kent Co., MD, d. 1789) first wife, Mary RENNICK.He wrote:
"If you would like to see how this Rennick/Renick - Holman/Holeman thing works, go to RootsWeb.com and search for Mary Rennick Holman. You will get one hit on World Connect. She was my GG grandmother married to Robert Allen Caldwell. Her father was Henry Holman, son of Edward and grandson of old Henry Holeman of Mary RENNICK fame and her mother was Elizabeth Jones. The Rennick came from the Jones side of the family.Click on the pedigree of Mary Rennick Holman and you will see that her grandmother (my 4G) was Mary Renick Jones and her G grandmother (my 5G) was Mary/Polly Chambers Renick. The spelling of Rennick/Renick and Holman/Holeman is a whole other issue.I would love to see someone prove that old Henry married Mary Rennick/Renick.Then I would have 4 versions of Mary Rennick grandmothers.Right now I only have three.Mary's stone in the Coop Prairie Cemetery, Mansfield, Sebastion Co., AR says this:
OUR MOTHER - AT REST - MARY RENNICK HOLMAN - BORN DEC. 31, 1820, married to ROBERT A. CALDWELL - July 25, 1838, Entered her Eternal Rest July 6, 1900 in her 80th Year."
