Nell,
Vivian e-mailed me with your information.I don't know of any GANDY connection at this time, but that doesn't mean much, as we haven't covered all the possible links to the HOLSOMBACKs at all.Probably just scratching the surface.By the location of your lines, I would say there would be some ties somewhere.Just finding the link to connect.
As for the HOLT connection, don't feel badly that they are a stubborn lot to research.I'm having the same problem myself. My husband's HOLT family has connections from Franklin County, Cullman County, Tuscaloosa County and Lee County, Al.They came originally out of Tennessee to Alabama.
There were about four brothers that I know about.Alford, Ed, Robert (Bob), and Joe E. HOLTThe parents of these four are as yet, a mystery.Haven't been able to identify them.
Joe E. HOLT was my husband's grandfather. He lived in Franklin County, Al.He married Mary Elizabeth BENDALL in 1904.Their son, Robert Don HOLT, was my husband's father. My husband was Jerry Don HOLT Sr.
The brothers, Robert (Bob) and Joe E. are both buried in the Knights of Phythias Cemetery, Russellville, Franklin, Al.The other two----went: one to Cullman and one to Tuscaloosa Counties.Don't know which went to where. There is a place called HOLT in Tuscaloosa County.
It would be wonderful to find a link through our HOLT lines. Also, our HOLSOMBACK lines, too.I'm really hoping we can.Judy
