Very true that lab techs can make mistakes.I descend from a Drury Holt from VA.The only Drury Holt I have been able to find, who was from VA and was the right age, was s/o Nathaniel Holt & Abigail Clanton.I knew Abigail was a descendant of Randolph Holt and just assumed Nathaniel & Abigail were Holt cousins. If my Drury was their son, then his parents came from different Holt ancestors.Drury's YDNA donor matched the Richard & Robert Holt group, not the Randolph Holt group. It's possible the lab tech goofed but not very probable. These test results did cause me to spend much time scouring records looking for another Drury Holt but to no avail.Unless another Drury Holt is found, it seems that Nathaniel and Abigail Holt were my Drury's parents. Perhaps the Nathaniel Holt who was Mr. Gibbs apprentice saddler in Sussex Co. wasn't the same Nathaniel Holt.I don't know. It's been a while since I read that document, so maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I thought it said that Nathaniel's father was Thomas Holt of Southampton Co, VA.If Thomas was Nathaniel's father, that would have made Nathaniel a Randolph Holt descendant as the Southampton Thomas Holt was descended from Randolph. That would eliminate Thomas's son as Abigail's husband and Drury's father. In the will of Thomas Holt of Southampton, it does make mention of a Nathan Holt, but it doesn't name him as a son. It just seems that all the ducks might not be in a row yet.
