Re: Holtzclaw of MO early 1920's-30's
Here is some follow up info:
1.I called my dad again tonight, and he
did know a Harold (I'm assuming your dad).
He acted as if he was not aware of Mr. Bowers and the whole story, but he did mention that he had met Harold a couple of times. He also mentioned that he thought he actually had his phone number (in Arkansas) somewhere.
2.The book with the Holtzclaw lineage is titled "The Geneology of the Holtzclaw Family" by BC Holtzclaw. If you review some of the other posts on this list/site, you will see others reference it.In my mind, it is the best resource to start with; at least what I have been able to find.
3.The siblings in that generation were like you mentioned, Gladys, Charles, Georgia (which are mentioned in the book). My dad also mentioned an Edna. The lineage backwards works as this (including your Grandmother Georgia):
b. June 21, 1870
m. Mollie De Moss
Rice Hugh Holtzclaw
Jacob Holtzclaw (who originally immigrated
Details (birth, etc.) are somewhat contained
in the book.I have found notes that there may be errors in some of the information contained in the book, but again, it is a good source of information.
If there is anything else I can get for you, just let me know... again, I'm hoping to see my grandmother again shortly (time allowing), and given specific questions, I can get it from her.She might even had pictures... but knowing her age, she probably won't know exactly where they would be located.I know she did have some pictures of her and my grandfather reproduced for some of her kids and grandkids....
Feel free to get ahold of me at my e-mail address noted in my previous post....
