Catherine (Shook) Horine, b. 1792 d. aft.1870, married Benjamine Horine and is the mother of Mary "Polly" Horine and Mary is the mother of William Murdick, my great grandfather, the father of Charles Leroy Murdick the father of my mother, Lucille Viola Murdick.Daniel Murdick, Polly's husband, walked away from the family, evidently at the before/beginning of the Civil War.His body was never found.Fowl play, hardening of the arteries?Their son, Harrison, joined the Union Cavalry and died in Louisiana from the complications of measles. While he was gone, and William was about 8 years of age, the rebels burned their home down, probably because Harrison was known to be in the Union Army. The family bible was lost.Upon Catherine's death, the Horine property was transferred to now married, William and Sarah Mercille Murdick.I, also, would like to know how Mary Polly Murdick ended her relationship with A.W. Vinson or Vincin.Richwoods, Washington County, settlers were bilingual with many French speaking Quebecois immigrants. The best that I can figure, there were three children with A.W.Vinson (cin): Catherine Aline, Alexender and Amanda Vinson.Mary had Payton, Jane, Harrison, Mary Elizabeth and William Joseph, with Daniel Murdick. My records indicate then that Jane was not a Vinson but a Murdick.I hope this information is accurate. If not, please feel free to alert me.Thanks.
