Anyone have a copy of Ed Porter's book that could look some stuff up?Or better yet, have an updated email for him so I could query the source directly?
I'm trying to find an origin for Michael Horn, b.c. 1802 PA, d. 8/2/1851 Trumbull co. OH.A lot of the Washington county PA Horns moved to and through OH in that time frame, and specifically, Mary Horn (daughter of John Horn and Catharine Gardner) married Frederick Moherman and moved to Trumbull county OH c.1803.I'm thinking that my Michael may be that Mary's nephew, son of David Horn and Ann "Nancy" Black (my Michael, by the way, named his first daughter Nancy Ann).
I've found a possible second link to the PA crew, too, through Sarah Katherine Horn, who in the 1850 census was living with the Tombaugh family in Stark co. OH (that's right near Trumbull--Mahoning county, where my Michael is buried, is between them).Sarah's death certificate reportedly suggests her father was my Michael (or at least that her father was born about the same time in PA).Further, Sarah's husband Thomas Conrad Tombaugh descends from the Tombaugh family that was connected several times to the Horns of Washington co. PA.
So some good circumstantial evidence--anyone got any more details they can offer on that family? Thanks!
