Dear Alayne Crandall,
just by chance I saw your research-message on genealogy.com.,dated from 1999. Did you get an answer on your question yet ? I would be quite astonished, if you did, because to my knowledge our family is the only one with the name `Hornbüssel`in Germany. I would be quite astonished to find out, that there might be some relatives of our family in the USA ! All I can tell you at this point is,that my father always had been telling me, that one of our ancestors emigrated to the USA. But he never knew who he was. This might have been a brother of my grand-grandfather Anton Heinrich Hornbüssel, who was born in 1862 in Bockhorn. So he might have had a brother called Fritz (Friedrich ?) Hornbüssel, who emigrated in the late 1800. The father of Anton Heinrich Hornbüssel was Gerd Hinrich Hornbüssel, born in 1824. So he as well might have had a brother called Friedrich ?, who emigrated. Using the annals of the church in Bockhorn I am going to find out some more about our family-history and would appreciate to hear from you as well.
All the best
Ute Hornbüssel
