Ok, Phyllis has given me more direction in my thinking on trying to sort my lines out for the Wake County N.C House families. I am trying to do the 1790 census will all the House males to break down how many children each have.. I get very confused with so many Thomas in the lines.

Thomas House (prob born ca 1710/20) md unknown:
1. James House
2. Archibald House (my line)
3. Thomas (your line)
4. William
5. John
(possibly others, including daughters - names unknown)

Your Thomas House md. Susannah Carroll/Carrell had:
1. Thomas
2. Brinkley
3. Warren
4. Willie (William)
5. John Carroll
6. Stancey
7. Betsey (md. cousin William, s/o Archibald)
8. Sarah (md. Goodwin Mitchell)

Those are all of the children of Thomas & Susannah that I know about. These children are not necessarily in birth order in either line.Part of the problem in separating the children of Thomas & Archibald is their children's given names.Thomas & Archibald both had sons named Thomas & William, although the William in your direct line was normally called Willie.

Also, research has lead me to believe that Archibald's wife's name was Dorcas Garner and the name was misread by the person who extracted the records.I'm not sure that Mima and Dorcas are the same person.Archibald shows up in Rowan Co, NC, on the 1790 census with 2 females, and I know that he had at least two daughters:Elizabeth (md. Randolph Cope - my line) and Christian (md Presley King).Elizabeth was married about 1794 & Christian was married 1802, so they were both born before 1790.
