House/Hooser/Hauser

My greatgrandmother Emily Jane Davidson's mother was Louisa Hooser.But in the family story, the family name was spoken of as House.Louisa Hooser (House)was born in MO in 1830 and died in Milam Co., Texas in 1896.Does anyone know anything about this family and/or how the name might have been changed?When did they move to TX?Where in MO was she born, etc.?Thanks so much.
