Re: Ambrose Pinkney House: NC 1840-1918

Well, I still haven't found a link between our House names but Moses A was the son of Moses b. 1784 and an unknown mother. We're undoubtedly connected somehow but at least I found his father who was b. in Spartanburg SC to a Thomas Jr. and Amelia supposedly Running Wolf Westmoreland.All of this is speculative, of course but I'm trying to figure it all out. Do you have any Wadkins or Watkins in that part of your tree?Moses #2's son was John W (Wadkins) House who married Mary Ann Pettus.They ended up in TX, where I live. Grandma House was reputed to be NA and my mother and her brothers' looks would certainly lend some truth to that.Do your House's have any NA lore associated with them?
