Going back father, according to History, was that "who-ever" Hereward the Saxon (Sachesen) came to England from Schleswig, North Germany, during the rein of KING EADGAR "Edgar", and he got there between these dates (957-972)....Most of the migrations occured during the 5th and 6th centuries....We do not (History) know the date that the first Hereward "The Sachesen) got there...but eventually he was in Mercia, England....and the first for sure was Leofric Hereward III as the Earl of Mercia, and his lady of "riding fame" Lady "Godifu" (which means "Gift of God"). We call her today Godiva....Her ride???? Only "Peeping Tom" knows for sure....Jack Howard
