Hi Shirley,
I just found this post from you, and thought I would compare notes.
My 3 greats grandparent's were, Edmund Howard, born about 1787, Rochdale, Lancaster, England, and Margaret Stringfellow, born about 1797, Liverpool, Lancaster, England. The reason for the move to Tasmania, Australia, where they were married on March 10, 1827, is yet to be discovered; but as he was in the vacinity of 40 and she around 30, they may have been convicts; however, they may have moved here at some stage, and both been previously married........at this point, all supposition!
Anyway, If you have any information about these people and their ancestors, I would love to hear from you; and if not would still like to compare notes. More than likely there is a family connection there, somewhere.
All the best with your search,
Shari.
