William Howden
My great grandfather's name is William Howden and he was born in 1874 in Glasgow Scotland. He joined the Partick Thistle in 1901 from Futherglen Glencairn (where he had made occasional guest appearances for Rangers in 1899/1900 season. He was a goal keeper. He stayed at Firhill during the club's early years until 1910 when he transferred to Abercorn. He played for Scotland and won the British International Championship on March 18/1905 against Northern Ireland. I am proud to say that the score was 4-0 meaning that no one scored on him.
I'm not sure of the date however, he was married to Charlotte Cunningham. They had one daughter by the name of Margaret (my grandmother). Margaret Married Jack Wilson and they had two sons...Douglas and William (my father is William)
My father's full name is William Howden Wilson (named after my great grandfather). My name is Douglas Mark Wilson (I was named after my uncle).
Can anyone give me anymore information on my great grandfather William Howden?
