Thanks for the message.
I have not been able to push William Howe back any further than himself.I assume he was born in England - but then he may have anglicized his name.I do have some information about his wife, Susanna Shoup, with a copy of her father's will - Andrew Shoup who was definitely German.
William evidently was a person of some note as I have read, I believe in the History of Perry County, that Howe Township was named after him.
There is some speculation that he might have been a British soldier - obviously too old for the American Revolution but not for the French and Indian Wars much earlier.
I'm descended through daughter Susannah Howe who married Thomas Boyd.
I'm aware of John Howe's wife, Hannah North, but have not traced anything down that line despite my interest in collateral lines.
Would like to exchange information with you.
