Bill:
First I have to apologize for the EXTREMEMLY LATE reply.
I had surgery and it has taken me over a year to get back to a "normal life".
Family rumor is that William Hoxie Densmore abandoned his wife and 4 children and ran off with a woman to Vicksburg, Ms.And changed his name of William Hoxie.
The basis of this rumor was stories from our elders and a couple of "documents" like a Family Bible entry....
About 1/2 of our family believe this story and abougt 1/2 do not. Both sides have members who are HEAVY into geneology and have spent DECADES doing thorough research..but the absolute truth has eluded us.
Finally, my brother has agreed to do DNA testing. He is a direct male descendant.
Now I need to find a direct male descendant from the Densmore line.
I am hoping that Kathy's husband will agree to the test which I will pay for....
The Hoxie book I read (about 300 pages) was very thorough...but did not have a lineage for William Hoxie.
He was listed in the "not traceable section"....
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated...
