Washington County, IN Huckleberrys
I need some help sorting out the Washington County, IN Huckleberries.According to the book, "History and Genealogy of the Epler, Oldwiler, Huckleberry, Carr and Ewing Families (1728-1913)" published by Mrs. Emma Epler Knudson in 1908, Frederick Huckleberry (believed to be one of Benjamin Hagelberger/Huckleberryerry, Sr.)'s sons migrated to the Lexington, IN area and died there at the age of 114.She further stated that he had one son, a Peter Huckleberry who was killed by an accident on a canal between New Albany and Louisville.I do not believe that Frederick (brother of George Huckleberry, Sr.) lived to be 114, but I do think he had a son named Peter, and that Frederick and Peter are the ancestors of the Washington County, IN Huckleberrys.
There may have been more than one Peter Huckleberry and I seem to keep mixing them up.I often see a reference to a Peter Nathaniel and wonder if he is the Peter who is the son of Frederick.
Can any Huckleberry reseacher clarify the Frederick lines of descent for me?I think, but am not sure it goes like this:
Frederick/Wife's Name Unknown
Peter/Wife's Name Unknown.
Charles Frederick/Wife Rachel Crockett
William Sherman/Wife America Dugan & Sarah Cash
Peter/Wife Jerusha Gibson
George/Wife Magaret Carter
John C./Wife Sally Carter
