My thoughts on the FAMILY RECORDS from Henry B. King’s Bible: J.R.B. 2012
The NEW TESTAMENT - Of Our Lord And Saviour Jesus Christ:
Translated Out Of - The Original Greek,
And With - The Former Translations Diligently Compared And Revised.
New York: American Bible Society,
Instituted In The Year MDCCCXVI. 1857.
(NOTE: original is in all capital letters: some punctuation added to make easier reading)
In the King Bible Records: Everything prior to 1857 is to be seen as "past tense."
Anything after 1857 is to be seen as an ongoing family chronicle.
All of these names converge upon one individual who is directly related to all others named, by blood or by marriage: Elizabeth Hughes Huff - Johnston - King. I would call this HER Family Record in HIS Bible.
As such, every name will be accounted for as one might expect to find in any other Family Bible Record.

Records #2) Opinions based on the photo-images provided, and labeled H. B. King Bible 1, 2, 3, & 2/3:
It appears as if one person - in one hand - made a detailed outline in the "Family History" as recalled on a day in 1857 when the Bible was new.
This handwriting encompasses:
A) the first three (3) entries under "Marriages" on Page #1.
The fourth and final entry on this page is a different hand.
B) And also includes most of two pages labeled births:
The first of which (#2) is all births and the second of which (#3) is deaths.
All of the entries on page #2, and the first four (4) entries on page #3 seem to be in the same hand.
The final three (3) entries on page #3 appear to be in a different hand. I believe this to be Henry B. King.
Of these three entries - the handwritting seems to match when comparing the upper case "D."
This hand may or may not be the source of M.D.L Burton married H.L.J King? The upper case "D" is similar, but the capital "J" in her name is unique - this could be the hand of H.L.J. King-Burton.
If we place page #1, #2 & #3, as a record for Elizabeth as the ancestor we get:
Robert M. Johnston was born July 19th 1808.
Elizabeth H. Huff was born May 2? 1816.
Robert M. Johston and Elizabeth H. Huff, were married August the 6th 1833.

5) Samuel Carter Kingb. Tuesday July 1851,d. August 12th, 1851; aged 28 days.

The death of son William S. King, January the 16, 1863;

This August 7 A.D. 1864
Written by J. H. King"
The bottom half of the page has a one column obituary, centered.
Departed this life 10th inst (Aug.) 1873. Henry B. King, at the age of fifty two years, after much suffering with cancer for over twelve months. May God proper, bless with good health and long life, the friends and neighbors who attended him so faithfully the three or four last months of his illness. Such disinterested kindness could not be rewarded with dollars of earth.
I and this brother were raised up side by side - walked together near fifty years, and were never separated but for a month or two at a time. Most all my friends are buried now; and I can say that yonder at Elliott's Chapel lies a friend that never deceived me. Henry never told me a lie. And if he was ever angry with me I never knew it. I may have hurt his feelings - doubtless have, but I know that in his heart, he was never angry with me. Rest thee, my brother! Thine obituary will be read and understood much better in the next world than in this. J. H. KING.
Two later date notations, in ink, one above and one below the phrase "Written by J. H. King"
Above: "Deceased Aug 10th A.D. 1873"
Below: "Henry B. King, born Nov 8th 1820"
In another hand, in ink directly above the obituary ". 557. Leaves ." or ". 5 5 ? . Leaves ."
Cassie Burton (?) daughter of M.D.L & H.L.J. Burton makes one (1) notation on the title page:
B. H. Wilson & Cassie Burton married Oct. 29th 1898

*Verification on "Polena" as stated in the J.H. King Memoirs":
1880 U.S. Census - Morris County Texas - Household #150D 29 94 24:
James H. Johnston - brother to "Polena" - the children of Elizabeth H. (Huff) Johnston (as named in the J.H. King Memoirs) has named his eldest child - (age 20) - "Polena"*: she becomes the wife of Albert Curlee* of Tishomingo Oklahoma. This is the same James H. Johnston that family M. D. L. Burton was living with twenty years earlier in the 1860 U.S. census. It is spelled "Polina" on tombstone records.
The Scratched Out Date:
The date of Sunday July (13 or 15) 1839: as compared to the date Saturday July 13 1839 at the very bottom of the page.
John H. M. Johnston was born Saturday July 13, 1839 and died July 17th 1840 aged 1 year 4 days:
these numbers compute exactly.
What I believe may have happened is the writer put the dead son's birthday with the still living son's name.
