Re: Huffman Family Bible
The file number is W10132. I ordered it from the national Archives It says he was private on the Virginia Line, and he enlisted as an infantry Continental troops, in Amhearst County, VA in July 1780. He continued service until 9 Jan 1782. He was discharged in Camden, SC. He was in the battles of Guilford, NC; Camden; Siege of 96; and another Battle that I cannot make out It looks like (Eutaw Springs). He wqas wounded twice at that battle, once in the left arm and once in the right collar bone.
There is also a letter from the Veterans admin to Mrs. S Bruce Jones, 915 Highland Avenue, Bristol, VA. The latter is dated July 9, 1972 and appears to be in reply to a letter theyt recieved asking questiopns about this John Huffman.
I have been unable to link, for the moment, this John Huffman to the person in my own line. I hope this helps you in some way. If I can help further please let me know.
There are no references to the use of thename Hoffman in these records.
