Re: Joel and Gideon Hufford
You appear to have resolved my query of a few months ago regarding my confusion over changes in Barbary Huffords "Head of Household" status in the different Scott County census reports. You resolved the 1830 Rebecca Hufford...Barbary is Head in 1820 & 1840.The 1850 census had an Enoch Link as Head of House and wife Susan, Barbary is listed as a member of the household,76 years of age and some of her children...Eli, Mary Ann, Delilah (Hufford) Woodgate.I think we can assume that the Susan Link in the Scott County census of 1850 is the Susan Lynk in your #5 a Step grand daughter of Barbary Hufford.
I think I previously mentioned that I'm working on a theory that my gggg-granddad Daniel, son of Christian married Barbary DAVID after 1st wife died. She is a daughter of William Henry DAVID who died in 1819 in Bourbon county and named as one off his children "Barbary Hufford".My contacts on line with David family researchers has no developed a 1st name for Barbary Huffords husband.
I have no proof yet, but having fun working the coincidences.
One of her brothers is married by German Reform Minister. The family came from Virginia and Frederick Maryland. Her family home is in the area if Ruddles Station near the Licking river and near Scott county border. Also some of the family moves to Rush County Indiana near the same time Daniels son William David Hufford moves to Rushville.Lots of coincidences for me to toy with.
As always the above is open to your expert critique and it is always good to have you and Alice and the other Hufford researchers helping the rest of us.
