Just found this site, so this entry is a bit belated. My father, Lloyd Hughlett, did some extensive research on the Hughlett line in America. Some of his research shows that John Hughlett, Sr. was the first of the Hughlett's in America and is believed to have been in Northumberland, VA soon after 1650.I am the 10th generation in this lineage.
EphraimHughlett was the second child of the third generation of John Hughlett, Jr. who was the third child born to John, Sr. and his second wife Alice. (John's first wife was Hannah (issue son Thomas), and his third wife was Sussanah (no known issues)).
Now, getting back to Ephraim from whom your children are descendents...my records match yours....he was born 23 December, 1686 and died 1727.Married Elizabeth Winter.Known issues of this marriage according to the St. Stephen's Parish Register include:Bette (1711), Thomas (1713), Nicholis (1716), George (1718), Mary (1720), and Samuel (b. ?- d. 1794). From here, if you wish, I can track at the lineage to a current Hughlett descendant.
Family trees have a natural tendency to branch out rather quickly. No problem in identifying the trunk, but the branches, wow! What branch are you on?Can you trace your roots back to a particular son of Ephraim? If so, I may be able to take you down a level, and we can go from there.
