John was a Railway Signalman and the son of John Huish 1833-1899 (born Combe St Nicholas) and Charlotte Pike 1838-1891 married at St Andrews Church Whitestaunton (entry No.38)
He was a Policeman 1857-1885 spent most of his Service at Queen Camel and as you enter St Barnabus Church Yard the first grave on the left the headstone is that of John & Charlotte

John 1833 was the son of William Huish 1806-1885 & Mary Ann Baulch 1802-1871
William 1806 was the son of John Huish 1780-1863 & Ann 1779-1855
My line is also via John and William's brother Richard 1818-1891
John was an interesting character 2nd Marriage aged 78 years 11/07/1858 St Andrews Whitestaunton Entry No.052 to Elizabeth Harris, she already had three children out of wedlock, she then had 2 more with John as father Adolphus (25/12/1858) & Jane 27/01/1861– Thomas was born 24/10/1864 14 months after the death of John. His baptism record states the fact too. Elizabeth later married John Diment 1836 whose sister Emma Diment 1830-1905 became 2nd wife of Jacob 1829-1907
Between his 2 wives he fathered 13 children and is buried with Emma and daughter Tryphena at Combe St Nicholas Church Yard
