Hello Richard, I have Jonathan Hungerford in the 1830 Vermillion Co IN census, 20-30 yrs old with a female 20-30 and two males under 5.
Alexander H Hungerford 20-30 yrs old with a female 15-20 a male 15-20 and two males under 5. I haven't a clue who the 15-20 yr old male could be.
In the 1840 census, I show only Alexander. Perhaps the Hamilton you found is a middle name for Jonathan.
I also found a marriage record for Grecilda Hungerford to John Billing Feb 5,1829 Vermillion Co, IN and suspect she is a sister. The other sister being Electa who would be living with her mother and Brainard Goff in 1830.
Electa seemed to be a popular name in the 1700-1800s and every James Hungerford I've found doesn't match what Im looking for except this;
James Hungerford of West Stockbridge, Berkshire,Mass married Electa Strong of Lee, Berkshire, Mass Oct 21,1805. A long shot, I know, but I try to follow every possible lead regardless how slim. Thank you for replying and for the Edwards Co lead.
