Hi Kay.
Your additional information helps--and ironically it is pointing to the same family that I mentioned had a Minerva. The only Hungerford family in Orleans county in 1830 was the Jeremiah Hungerford family of Murray, New York.Jeremiah Rockwell Hungerford was born 25 Feb 1807 in Lanesboro, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth E. Fuller.
Jeremiah and family show up in Alexandria, Jefferson county, New York in 1840.
The Minerva in Jeremiah's family is Ada Minerva Hungerford. She was born 9 Dec 1831 in Lanesboro. She married Charles William Cheney. Not quite a match...(I do have a picture of her.If you have one of your Minerva maybe we should compare them...)
There are no Hungerfords in Orleans county in 1840.In 1850 Jeremiah's brother Reuben is residing with his family at Yates. There is another Hungerford family--the L. L. Hungerford family at Yates too.Neither family has children that were born in 1820s.
Perhaps your Minerva is an unknown (and much younger) sister of Jeremiah or a female who married into the family and then married as a second husband Elias.
I will keep an eye out for your Lydia M.If you find any other information--let me know.
