I just connected your line to the "published line."Laban is the child of Thomas and Triphena (Smith) Hungerford. This Thomas was the son of Thomas and Rachel (Rockwell) Hungerford.Thomas Sr. was the son of Jonathan and Martha (Wells) Hungerford.Jonathan was the son of Thomas & Elizabeth (Smith) Hungerford. That Thomas was the son of Thomas & Mary (Green?) Hungerford. This last Thomas was the son of the first Hungerford in America--Thomas Hungerford--who shows up in Hartford, CT in 1639.
I found the following reference:
Page 41 of Appendix VIII of "History of the Town of Lanesborough, Massachusetts, 1741-1905, Part 1," by Charles J. Palmer, 1905, republished with addenda and index by: Berkshire Family History Association, Inc., PO Box 1437, Pittsfield, MA 01202-1437, 1994. It states:
"Children of Thomas and Triphena Hungerford.Jeremiah, born Feb 25, 1807; Reuben, Nov 15, 1809; Sally, Aug 11, 1811; Laban, May 19, 1813; Serene, June 4, 1815."
Laban is in the 1850 New York, Orleans county, Yates census. Also found there at that time is his brother Reuben Hungerford.
I haven't come across another Laban Hungerford in my research. This has got to be Orson's father.
