I can help--a little bit.I can take you back one more generation. This is one of those families that "got lost" as they helped pacify the frontier as pioneers.
John Harvey Hungerford is the son of Lucius & Lucy () Hungerford.Lucius first shows up in the 1850 census. It is interesting to track his progress via the census records. In 1850 he was in Springville, Susquehanna county, Pennsylvania. In 1860 he was in Cleo township, Woodford county, Illinois. In 1870 and 1880 he was in Groveland township, LaSalle county, Illinois.I have not found him in the 1900 census anywhere.
Lucy is the first of two wives. She was born about 1816 in Connecticut. She is with him from 1850 through the 1870 census records. In 1880 Lucius' wife is a Sophia J.Sophia was born about 1825 in New York.
Lucius was born about 1815 in Connecticut. The 1880 census record indicates his parents were both born in Connecticut too.
That is all I have for the moment.I would be interested in learning more about your line from John Harvey down to the present time.I will let you know if/when I come across other information re your family.
