As the following record shows, I strongly believe that our "Mary" was from New London. It would only (in all probability) be the local folks who would have known if they weren't married before she was pregnant.
She could have been another Mary Green(e) ??????????????
The son (your ancestral line) named Green Hungerford is a strong indicator, as it is the only place I know of that the name "Green" shows up.
""""New London County Court, June 6, 1671. Thomas Hungerford and Mary his wife being presented to this court for committing fornication before marriage this court considering the case circum (word not clear W.H.) doe adjudge that the said Hungerford and his wife to pay within one month five pounds to the treasury of this county or in defect there of to receive corporal punishment". "The (word left out W. H.) hath accepted a barrel of pork for this fine.Paid by Mr Palines to George Tongue on Counties account"""""".
Hopefully one day the record will show up.
I just rec'd the CD "New England Marriages prior to 1700" Once I figure out how to search the the data base in it, I'll give it a go.
I spent the $90.00 bucks US ($150.00 Canadian) solely in the hopes it would / will have their record listed.
