John, thanks for the Sumner Co., TN, census, wedding and tax info.Although the subject William Hunley, Jr., and Martha Patsy (Patsey) Adams were married in Sumner Co., TN in 1816, they had moved to Tipton Co., TN, by the time of the 1830 census.I don't find either the John M. Hunley (b. 1800 - 1810) or the John T/J/F Hunley (b. 1790 - 1800) in the families of my wife's Hunley ancestors.
The 7 July 1810 wedding in Goyne (listed twice) appears to be that between Peter S. Winn and Martha Patsy Hunley, sister of the subject ancestor William Hunley, Jr.This Mrs. "Patsey" Hunley is said to have died 6 Apr. 1816 in Sumner Co., TN.
Willis Hunley (b. 3 Nov 1777 Lunenburg Co., VA), who died in 1816 in Sumner Co., TN, appears to be the one whose heirs are being taxed in the 1818 and 1819 Sumner Co. land tax lists. He is said to have married Joyce Lark Taylor in Mecklenburg Co., VA on 23 Sep 1809.Incidentally, I wonder if "Patsey" and her brother Willis both died in an epidemic in 1816.
The Drury Stone, mentioned in the 1817 land tax, appears to be the deceased husband of Nancy Hunley, a sister of the subject William Hunley, Jr.
The above is all that I can find in your info that fits with my wife's Hunley's.
