SILER CITY - Carol Janet Hunn Bogart, 68, died Friday, December 30 after a battle with cancer. She was born in Rochester, New York and then lived in Florida (Daytona Beach and Deerfield Beach). She spent the last 28 years living on her farm in Siler City. She attended First Wesleyan Church of Siler City. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant with Twin Lakes Community in Burlington. Her hobbies included woodworking and various crafts. Surviving are her daughters, Shannon Monteiro and Michelle Powers, Siler City; her sons, Richard Bogart (Kristina), Siler City, and Jason Bogart (Julie), Burlington; her sister, Linda Friedel, of South Daytona, Florida; her 9 grandchildren and 2 foster grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jenna Bogart; son-in-law, Phil Powers and her parents Phil and Doris Hunn. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church of Siler City by the Rev. Eddie McClure. Visitation will be held from Noon to 1:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
