I am also from this same line. My great grandfather Riley was the brother to the Sophronia that you speak of. If so, you list her father as John Hunsaker which would be incorrect. Her parents would be Abner HUNSAKER b. Jan 1801, Muhlenberg Co, KY m. Rachel MONTGOMERY b. 1802 VA. They later settled in Union Co IL , where on 11 July and 13 July 1849 respectively they died from a cholera epidemic along with an infant son Thomas. They are both buried in the Jonesboro City Cemetery in Jonesboro, Union CO, IL. The younger children of Abner and Rachel went to live with their older sister Sophronia and her husband Johnathon Story before moving to Sowers (Irving) TX.
The parents of Abner would be Abraham HUNSAKER b. 25 April 1764, Manheim Twnshp, York Co PA d. 13 Nov 1841, Jonesboro, Union Co, IL. married ca. 1875 Hagerstown MD, Mary Jane SNIDER b.5 May 1766 PA d. 11 April 1843 Jonesboro, Union Co, IL. Both are also buried in the Jonesboro City Cemetery.
Abraham was considered and credited in IL history books with being the first white man to settle in southern IL.
Abrahams parents were: Hannes "John" m. Magdeland Beery/Beiri/Biry Hannes "John" is buried in the Old Dunkard Cemetery just outside of Jonesboro, IL.
Then of course the last in the US research: Hartman Hunsaker
Hope this has been of some help to you. Have much much more on this line that I can share with you. Even some current researchers names from Sophornia, her siblings and children. Just E mail me: WHunsaker@aol.com
