Doing some research tonight, and noticed your interest in the Hunspergers/Hunsbergers line.
I noticed in reviewing the responses that I didn't see the references to a wonderful sourse of information, so I thought I would share the following...
My mom and Uncle attended the Husbergers Reunion years back to meet our distant kin.I now have a wonderful book of the Hunsberger Genealogical History which was published in 1969.I purchased later the the new three volumes, which was published in 1995, and I believe there may still be some copiesof the 1995 set for sale.
The information in these books is wonderful, and you can add your information and become a part of the next generation of books published,I am not in the 1969, however because of the information provided by my mom and Uncle, my generation are now reflected.
The book has information of where the Hunsbergers orginated and the family lines are clearly identifed, which make it easy to follow each line.Well worth the investment
Hans, Jacob, Urick, Christian - which is my line, and Peter Hunsberger are all listed, with their family as best is known by the Family Association beginning with the year 1773 with Hans will, Jacob's will 1748, Christian b 1732 and so much more.
Good luck with your research, as I believe to know who you are is to know where you came from .... Sincerely, B DeVault
The most recent family book, The Hunsbergers, was published by the Association in 1995, in three volumes, with over 1700 pages. The index of the latest book contains 58,000 names, approximately 10% of which are still Hunsberger or some spelling thereof. (Spellings treated as part of the family include Huntsberger, Hunsperger, Honsberger, Honsperger, Hundsberger, Hunzberger, and many others.)
The principal researcher and assembler of the 1995 book was George Sheppard Hunsberger, who served until recently as the Association's Historian.
Inquiries concerning the book should be addressed to the Association's Treasurer, Allen Bradley, at 11421 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster PA 18974 USA (Tel: 215-957-7916). Copies of this book (all 3 volumes) are available for US$70 plus $10 for shipping.
