Washington State has an online digital archive of death records.
John Hunter's record

Parents John Hunter, Phoebe Green, Spouse, Leona
Died Feb 1,1941, age 82.
I checked your 1860 census where John's wife was listed as Rhoda, then matched back to the same location in 1850 using the daughter Sarah, and there John's wife was listed as Pheba.Ages of Pheba and Rhoda are a match for them possibly being the same person.
In 1870 the family was listed as Lee's Summit post office, Jackson County, Missouri.
In 1870, John has a brother Ells (Elsworth Peter Hunter). His death record is online in Missouri and gives mother's name as Phoebe Smith.

John and Phoebe were living in Cass County, Missouri on the 1900 census.
Phoebe's death record.

Parents given, neither Smith nor Green, but birth date matches the 1900 census date. Her record indicates she was a widow, so John died between 1900 and 1910.Unfortunately, Missouri only started death records in 1910, so there most likely isn't a death record for him.You might find a probate record for John or Phoebe in Cass County, MO which would list heirs and their locations.
Elsworth and Sarah are buried in theSouth Fork Cemetery.
