Thanks for the email. Here is the information that I have:
Hurley, Thomas
Resided in Ashe County and was by occupation a farmer prior to enlisting in Ashe County at the age of 28 on July 20, 1862. Mustered in as a private in Company L, 58th North Carolina Troops. Deserted from camp near Clinton Tennessee on May 26, 1863. Returned to duty on an unspecified date. Deserted at Chattanooga, Tennessee, September 26, 1863. Returned to duty on November 20, 1863. Hospitalized at Dalton, Georgia, April 18, 1864. Returned to duty on an unknown date. Reported present May through August 1864. Transferred to Company F of this regiment subsequent to August 31, 1864. Wounded seriously in the knee during the battle of Bentonville, North Carolina, March 19, 1865. Hospitalized at Greensboro, North Carolina. Paroled at Greensboro on May 1, 1865.
Would you happen to know when he died and where he is buried?
